Warsaw at MIPIM 2019

Between 12 and 15 March, our Capital City will be showcased at MIPIM 2019, Europe’s leading property market. This will be an excellent opportunity to promote Warsaw’s economic and investment potential.

“Warsaw is a city that attracts talent, and investors put their money where they have access to well-qualified human resources. As many as 72 percent of all the people who live in Warsaw are university graduates, and 40 percent speak English. Moreover, the City offers today more than 5.4 million square metres of modern office space. All this makes the property market in Poland more and more attractive to investors,” says Rafał Trzaskowski, Mayor of Warsaw.

During this year’s event in Cannes, Warsaw will reveal its development plans. The event will see the first public presentation of “Warsaw – your place to invest,” a report on the City’s investment potential and situation on its real estate market. The report was created as a joint project between the City of Warsaw and nine agencies, including BNP Paribas, CBRE, Colliers, Cushman & Wakefield, JLL, Knight Frank, Randstad, Reas, and Savills.
At the Warsaw’s stand you will also be able to read “Revitalisation – Brave New Warsaw” a report on ubran revitalisation within Praga-Północ and Praga-Południe districts, and “2018 Advanced Business Services Sector in Warsaw,” a report by the Association of Business Leaders (ABSL).

Warsaw is one of the leading investment destinations in Europe, which has been recognised by prestigious international rankings, including the Financial Times’ fDi Markets, which ranked Warsaw as Europe’s third most business-friendly City of the Future 2018/2019. And in the latest ranking by the fDi Magazine, our Capital City has been recognised for the third time as the leading Polish City of the Future for 2019/2020.

City’s partners
This year’s MIPIM will be the 30th edition of the fair, and Warsaw will be attracting investors in Cannes for the 21st time. The City will be accompanied by the following 13 partners, who will also be presenting their products and services: BBI Development, CMT Sp. z o.o., Ghelamco, Golub Gethouse, HB Reavis, Immobel Poland, Liebrecht&wooD Poland, Mayland Real Estate, Modlin Sp. z o.o., OKAM Capital, Skanska Property Poland, Unibail Rodamco Westfield and Vastint.

As part of Warsaw’s support for start-up’s and the creative sector, their representatives will have an opportunity to present themselves during MIPIM. Warsaw’s stand will also showcase Whirla, a PropTech company that delivers solutions for digital interaction with users via smart wireless chargers for smartphones. The Cannes event will also see some other creative gimmicks designed by Warsaw’s young local entrepreneurs.

Investment opportunities
During this year’s MIPIM, the City will offer 5 investment plots. In the Bemowo District at Powstańców Śląskich St. (2646 sq. m, 2922 sq. m, and 2646 sq. m) the City has some land for residential and service provision purposes. Plots for multi-unit residential building development include one at Mokotów’s Cieszyńska St. – 3803 sq. m (for office development) and 3539 sq. m, and one at 36/38 Dobra St. (about 2453 sq. m). In addition, Warsaw will offer a multi-purpose property in its very centre (5 Mariańska St. – 1027 sq. m) and an area at 92 Grzybowska St. in the Wola District (1200 sq. m) for office/service or residential/service purposes.

MIPIM is Europe’s leading property market for cities, regions, companies, investors, property developers and industry press. In 2018, 21 520 sq. m of its exhibition area provided meeting space for 26 000 delegates from more than 100 countries, including 5 400 investors and financial institutions. The event attracted 10 126 companies who presented themselves at 392 stands.
