A new day nursery in Wawrzyszew was opened at the beginning of December and is currently attended by 150 children. Adaptation days are currently in progress there. Rafał Trzaskowski, Mayor of Warsaw, has paid a visit to the children, their parents, and carers.

This year Christmas decorations will be set up not only in the streets of Warsaw but also underground. Two Christmas-themed metro trains will be running starting from 6 December. Varsovians will be able to enjoy a ride in them on both lines of the Metro until 6 January.

Residents can help birds survive the winter cold. Varsovians join volunteers who take care of bird feeders. They regularly replenish the feeders with sunflower seeds, groats, wheat and water. Automatic duck feeders are operating in parks again.

The Centre will host a 30-bed Clinical Psychiatric Ward, Community Mental Health Services, including outpatient clinics, and a patient admission room. The cost of the upgrade was PLN 3.5 mln.

Come 8 December Warsaw streets will be sparkling with Christmas lights. Christmas garlands, cups, snowflakes and installations will be set up along 20 km of roads and in squares. The decorations will stay in place to brighten our evening walks until the beginning of February.

The Warsaw Rising Museum to be extended
The results of the competition for the extension and modernisation of the Warsaw Rising Museum were announced on 19 November, at the Warsaw Branch of the Association of Polish Architects. The first prize, amounting to PLN 66,000 gross, and an invitation to negotiate a contract for the preparation of documentation under a single-source procedure was awarded to the Nizio Design studio.

Users like to use Park & Ride facilities – as many as 91% of respondents rate them as good or very good. The vast majority park their cars there from Monday to Friday to use Warsaw Public Transport.

Next year the Grochowski Hospital will admit patients in modernised wards in pavilion V. After renovation, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, the Mayor of Warsaw, opened the oncology, oncological and general surgery, and neurorehabilitation wards.
