Warsaw Bike Service Centre opened for another season The free-of-charge Warsaw Bike Service Centre is back in business. As in the previous season, the Centre will be open on weekends until the end of summer holidays, including on 15 August (a Polish national holiday). This coming Saturday and Sunday, as well as on 6 and 7 July, the service technicians will also work on Ząbkowska Street.

“Repair your bike – don’t throw it away” – the service technicians have this as their slogan. They provide free-of-charge bike repair services every Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to doing minor, ongoing repairs, the employees of Warsaw Bike Service Centre (WBS) provide Varsovians with advice and guidance on how to use bikes and spot malfunctions on a daily basis. In the service tent, bikers can have their bicycles inspected and adjusted. Also, they can ask technicians to check and add tyre pressure, patch up or replace the tube, adjust brakes and gears, check bearing play and install bike accessories.

On the next two weekends, on 29 and 30 June, and 6 and 7 July, the service centre will be open on Ząbkowska Street, at the corner of Ząbkowska and Targowa Streets, as part of the “Open Ząbkowska” festival. If it proves in-demand, the WBS tent will stay there until the end of summer holidays.
Last year WBS served more than 600 bikers. The idea behind the bike service centre was to promote cycling as a comfortable and healthy means of transport and form of recreation in the city. In addition, the service technicians remind bikers to keep their two-wheelers in good condition, as this is important for their safety in the heavy city traffic.
