On Sunday, 17 June, Varsovians could take a peek at the progress of works on the extension of Metro Line 2. The constructed Targówek Station was visited by more than 1,500 people over five hours. These included Mayor of Warsaw Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz and Deputy Mayor of Warsaw Renata Kaznowska.

We still have more or less half a year to go until the estimated deadline, and the works are progressing very smoothly. Varsovians will be able to use three new metro stations next year. I keep my fingers crossed for the builders and will surely attend the opening,” said Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, Mayor of Warsaw.

The builders of the eastern section of Metro Line 2 are several months ahead of schedule. The station located at the intersection of Pratulińska and Ossowskiego Streets already features fragments of granite flooring and the walls have finished elements of the technical installations of the underground.
During the open-doors day, Varsovians had an opportunity to descend to the -1 level, i.e. the mezzanine using the core-&-shell entrance, and then to the -2 level, that is the platform. They could have a good look at the constructed track bed and the underground turnout chamber.
